Climate change asthma attacks - There are many possible triggers of asthma attacks and one of them is weather. There is a connection between climate changes and asthma attacks.

Generally the climate change can increase or decrease the frequency of asthma attacks. Scientists have found that temperature and air humidity greatly influence asthma. The best place for an asthmatic is a cold, dry and (of course) clean place. Sadly, it is hard to find such place today. Ozone is also responsible for increasing asthma attacks among children suffering from this disease. It is said, that in this case the probability of asthma attack can be 40% more likely.

Another important trigger of asthma attacks is humidity. Generally asthma attacks are less likely to occur in places where the humidity is below 50%.  Scientist have found that every 10% increase of indoor humidity causes 2,7% increase in the prevalence of asthma symptoms. 

It is believed that increased exposure to dust mites and higher amounts of mould, which are connected with the humidity air, could be important factors in the condition of an asthmatic.
We already know, that warmer temperatures caused by climate changes can raise humidity.  That explains why asthma attacks are more likey urban area and opposed to rural enviroments.

Climate change asthma attacks and air pollution

For many years people have known that a high level of air pollution can trigger asthma attacks. In last decade over most of the world the average wind intensity has increased  because of global climate change.  There appears to be a  connection between winds and an increased rate of asthma attacks.

When the wind is stronger it can transport the pollution farther from cities, even to the areas that have never known air polution.  That is why even in the mountains, acknowledged as Eden for asthmatics, people suffering from this disease are no longer safe.

Climate change asthma attacks are a modern fact of life.  You best defense is to be prepared for any asthma attack with a good plan.
