Asthma attack - what causes it?  Anyone who is hit with asthma has asked that question from time to time.  Guess what?  It could be any one of dozens of reasons.

Frustrating isn't it?...  Dogs, cats, and even some pet birds might be the villains behind asthma attacks. Then, of course, there's cigarette smoke, dust, cold air, physical exercises... even laughing. Some asthma attacks are worse when people feel strong emotions (positive and negative alike). Even an unrelated illness like Strong virus infections of airways can bring asthma to life.

Now get this...Sometimes asthma is triggered because of medications used to treat infections.  That could include aspirin and other acetylsalicylic acid-based medications.

On the other hand, infections in childhood can be beneficial.  Isn't that a surprise?  It's because the body at that stage of development is better prepared to fight allergies and, since most causes of asthma are connected with some form of allergy, the infection can meet maximum resistance from the immune system.

Asthma attack - what causes it?  There's that question again!  Let's take a look at some other causes and the triggers

As was mentioned above, an asthma attack is usually the results of some form of allergy. It doesn't matter what causes it - the results are the same. Without allergy reactions or airways' inflammation there can be no asthma attack. You can ask: "What about laughter, physical exercises or tobacco smoke? Can they real bring on an asthma attack.

Sure, because...

The problem is to recognize the difference between what "induces" an asthma attack and what "causes" it. The causes are very general, are usually connected with an allergy and you can't do a thing about them.

Here's the good news... fortunately we can try to avoid anything that might induce an asthma attack. It doesn't matter what causes it in general - if you can avoid triggers, you can avoid most of the attacks.

Asthma attack - what causes it?  Gee, haven't we answered that stubborn question by now?  Well the secret is "Know Your Enemy!"

The triggers that provoke asthma can vary widely, depending upon your general health. Remember, most allergens can trigger an asthma attack: cats' or dogs' fur, cold infections, air (this includes temperature, smoke and other similar things).

In server cases a doctor should carefully examine the triggers to prepare the proper treatment. For you it is important to remember what your asthma attack triggers are and avoid exposure to them if possible. The old saying: "Know your enemy" is extremely useful here. You have to know what causes your asthma. It is necessary if you want to live an active and happy life.

Certain drugs can reduce the probability of an asthma attack, but, to be honest, it seldom disappears completely. But are aware of what aggravates your asthma, you can develop your methods for control the problem.  Keep the triggers out of your life.  Do your best to avoid cold air.  Control your emotions.  Install air filtration systems in your home and car.

You can live with asthma if you will just make a point of letting it know who is boss.
